In Iraq and the Gulf, search means Google, and increasingly it means an AI assistant answering directly. Being found is mechanical: indexable pages in the buyer's language, matching the terms procurement actually types (supplier, capacity, minimum order, HS code) and entity facts consistent enough for an answer engine to cite. This is search capture and answer capture. It opens the door. It does nothing else.
Chosen Is the Ninety Seconds
Procurement gives an unknown supplier about ninety seconds. What survives that window: specifications, certifications, production capacity, native Arabic and English, a real address, a page that loads fast on a phone. Build this asset first, then point discovery at it. Reverse the order and you pay to deliver buyers to a page that loses them.
How do I know if my problem is being found or being chosen?
Pull two numbers: search impressions from Google Search Console and inquiries from your inbox. Near-zero impressions is a found problem; the market cannot see you. Steady traffic with zero inquiries is a chosen problem; buyers arrive and the page loses them. The diagnosis takes one afternoon and it decides where the budget goes.
Then run the ninety-second test. Open your own site on a phone, on mobile data, in the buyer's language. Time how long it takes to find your certifications and your production capacity. If you cannot find them in ninety seconds, procurement will not look longer.

Why does my website get traffic but no inquiries?
Because the site fails procurement's verification, not its attention. Visits prove buyers found you. Zero inquiries proves the page gave them nothing to verify. Procurement does not browse. It audits.
A procurement officer builds a file he can defend to his manager. A supplier page with no certifications, no capacity figures, and no physical address gives him nothing for that file. Does AI search change how buyers shortlist suppliers?
Yes. An AI assistant runs procurement's scrutiny before the buyer sees a single website: it names the suppliers whose facts it can verify and omits the rest. Being chosen now happens twice.
